45 bags. Each 80 lb bag yields 0.60 ft³ and a yard is 27 ft³: 27 ÷ 0.6 = 45. That’s 3,600 lb of bags; most half-ton pickups can’t legally carry a yard of bagged concrete in one trip.
How many 60 lb and 40 lb bags in a yard?
60 × 60 lb bags (0.45 ft³ each), or 90 × 40 lb bags (0.30 ft³ each). And 72 of the 50 lb bags. Smaller bags cost more per cubic foot, so if you must haul bags for a big pour, big bags are the better deal.
